Getting About
Getting out and about in the first few weeks your baby is in cast can seem daunting. Remember that keeping mobile and changes of scenery will be good for both of you!

Here is some advice on equipment to make the transition easier. Please note that all babies are different sizes and shapes in their spica cast so what  fits one baby may not fit yours! It is therefore not advisable to purchase any equipment before your baby gets their cast. However, you may find it useful to source these items in stores close to you in advance. This can ease the stress of bringing your baby to many different stores in the early weeks of adjusting to the cast.

When you are going to purchase equipment for your baby in a spica cast it might be advisable to go at a quiet time when staff are more available to help you. Some trial and error with seeing what ‘fits’ is required!
